FUNDAMENTALS FOR BEGINNERS


Beginners Session - This session is for first time players as an introduction to the sport of basketball.  The Beginners session is designed to help young athletes learn all of the fundamentals in a positive atmosphere with no pressure or fear of making mistakes.  The emphasis of this session is on building a foundation of skills while building confidence in young athletes.

 
Players will be introduced to:
  • Triple Threat position
  • Dribbling with both hands
  • Passing (chest pass / bounce pass / overhead pass / baseball pass)
  • Proper shooting technique
  • Jump stops / Pivots / Footwork
  • Proper defensive stance
